Default Looking for some tips for a new Rit.

Hey everyone.

I mostly PvE, with some Fort Aspenwood on the side. I have been playing a warrior for as long as I can remember and I consider myself to be a pretty decent one. The thing is I am guildless, and in PUGs everyone already has a warrior or doesn't want one for come reason. After getting sick of getting passed over I decided to start a new character.

I chose the Rit because I like the idea of the spirits/weapon buffs, the idea of supporting my teammates is cool. I read the tips at the top of the page, and looked over the builds section, but I still have to ask some questions.

Keep in mind that I am at level 20 Rit/Necro ( not hard to do in factions ) and in Kaineing City, so I have acess to those skills and any in Kamadan.

What is a good build for doing the Factions main quest? I will be mostly doing PUG or Henchman (bad experiences with PUG) I really just need something that is simple enough, but effective enough to work. I do like the communing and Spirit summoning spells.

What would be a some suggestions for a secondary class for PVE play?

And finally, any tips would be greatly appreciated, because I really am enjoying it so far

Thanks,

Herc.

Welcome to the folds of the Ritualist. I would suggest you read this thread for a nice awareness of what it means to play as a ritualist.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10148117

Since you will be playing with henchmen and enjoy spirits and buffs, I would suggest you go with an offensive spirit build. One thing that is nice about hench play is you can set up a spirit line and pull the creatures into range. Players tend to just run ahead and engage out of the spirit line range: at least the players who do not appreciate what rits can do.

Apologies for not posting a specific build. I believe players should work out builds for themselves, but a good foundation would be to include: pain, bloodsong, vital weapon, and painful bond if you only have factions.

If you're already a Rit/N and enjoy PVE, did you try out the Minion Bomber? My guide is further down on the forum.

I would just like to point out that minion bombers are terrible, despite what Bargamer says in every single thread in the ritualist forum. That is all.

I'd like to go on record and agree with Dr Strangelove. If you're a noob, going Rt/N minion bomber just might make you quit the game.

I found this out when I started playing rit.

Until you get some elites, Mighty was Vorizun is your best friend.

Saying that, I agree with going to the sticky in this forum. It gives you every technicality the rit has to offer

P.S.- Minion making= semi fun on rit

Minion bombing= too much upkeep. No fun (sry bargamer )

I agree with Fishmonger, Rit's are quite bad until you can start capping elites. However I play a Rt/N on a regular basis, and find just general MMing lots of fun. However I have now got a Rt/Mo, using Preservation as my elite, whilst using Spirit Light and other Restoration heals (I also use Life a lot), and find it fun as well

Other than that Rits with any offensive secondary (War, Sin, Para) can use Spirit's Strength can be awesome fun , the fun thing to do with Rits is experiment, try out something, if it doesn't work swap some skills and try it out again.
